How to Install IPTV on a Smart STB

Smart STB is one of the most reliable portal-based players for IPTV set-top boxes. This guide covers the full activation using your device MAC address.

Smart STB devices are configured differently from app-based players: instead of a username/password login, activation is tied to the box's unique MAC address, which we whitelist on our servers. This makes the box itself your "login" — nothing to type once it's set up.

Before you start: locate your device's MAC address (usually shown on the boot screen, or under Settings → System Info) and send it to our support team so we can whitelist it before you proceed.

Step 1 — Find your MAC address

Power on your Smart STB. The MAC address is displayed on the loading/boot screen (format 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX). If you can't see it there, check Settings → System Info → MAC Address.

Step 2 — Send us your MAC address

Message our support team on WhatsApp with your order number and MAC address. We'll whitelist the device and confirm once it's ready — this usually takes a few minutes.

Step 3 — Set the portal URL

On the device, go to Settings → Playlist / Portal Settings and enter the Portal URL from your activation email exactly as provided (it typically ends in /stalker_portal/c/ or /c/). Save and restart the box.

Step 4 — Confirm channels load

After the restart, your channel list, categories and VOD library should load automatically — there's no further login step required. If you replace or reset your box, simply send us the new MAC address to re-whitelist it.

Good to know: MAC-based activation is tied to one physical device at a time. If you want to watch on a second screen simultaneously, add an extra connection to your plan rather than reusing the same MAC.

Troubleshooting

  • "MAC not found" / blank screen: confirm the MAC address was typed correctly when sent to support — a single wrong character will block activation.
  • Portal URL rejected: re-check for extra spaces or a missing http:// prefix.
  • Channels load but freeze: see our guide on fixing buffering & freezing.
